Samantha Hill serves as Senior Manager of State Affairs in the Atlanta office of Troutman Sanders Strategies. With nearly a decade of government relations experience, Ms. Hill has extensive knowledge of the complicated legislative process and ever-changing political landscape that guides policymaking in the State of Georgia.
In her current role, Ms. Hill manages complex policy issues on behalf of multiple clients before the state legislature, executive branch and various agencies within state government. She provides an array of experience in policy areas including healthcare, telecommunications, taxation, education, and appropriations. In addition, Ms. Hill manages statewide grassroots advocacy and strategic communications activities on state and federal policy issues.
Through her representative experience, Ms. Hill has established strong, bipartisan working relationships with House and Senate members of the Georgia General Assembly, state agency leaders, and staff. Additionally, her diverse work portfolio and expertise have afforded her the opportunity to form strong working relationships among a multitude of trade associations, business leaders, key coalitions and organizations throughout the state.
Prior to engaging in the full-time practice of government relations, Ms. Hill served as a Legislative Session Assistant with Troutman Sanders Strategies. In addition, she gained statewide political campaign experience working as Finance Assistant for U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss’ 2008 re-election campaign.
Ms. Hill received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs.
