Chris Baxter serves as a Manager in the Washington, D.C. office of Troutman Sanders Strategies. In this capacity, Chris assists in the development of client initiatives, political strategy, outreach, and advocacy before Congress and federal agencies. Additionally, Chris assists client goals by monitoring and evaluating legislation, regulations, and grants put forth by the U.S. Congress and Federal agencies and providing in-depth policy analysis. Since joining the firm, Chris has worked with Fortune 500 companies, institutions of higher education, multinational corporations, agricultural groups, trade associations and others, covering a wide range of public policy issues.
Chris initially joined Troutman Sanders Strategies as a Research Analyst in 2013. Prior to joining Troutman, Chris gained experience in government relations on and off Capitol Hill. Chris served as a Legal Research Assistant in the government affairs group at Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP, focusing on agricultural and international trade issues. Chris also spent time in the Washington, D.C. office of Senator Robert Menendez, working as a Research Assistant covering banking & housing issues.
A native of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, Chris received his B.A. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, where he also minored in Philosophy.
