Tax & Trade

Our team advocates for our clients on a number of tax policies and trade issues. State and federal tax codes are complex and continually altered by their respective legislatures. We work with our clients to advocate for tax policies in line with their business interests. Our successes include working with the cable and film industry to support state film tax incentive programs, modifying state corporate income tax code, representing public utilities on tax exempt financing, and dozens of additional tax credit issues. Our team has worked on a number of tax issues for our clients at the federal level, including energy  tax credits, research and development tax credits, as well as broader comprehensive tax reform.  Included in our efforts for tax reform are advocating for changes to the foreign tax credit, supporting a path to repatriation, and monitoring the adjustment of corporate tax rate.

We deliver a full range of services designed to help domestic and foreign clients develop strategic solutions in an increasingly competitive and global marketplace. We offer extensive experience working with the Department of Commerce, the U.S. Trade Representative, Export-Import Bank, and congressional trade committees. Our team has worked with multiple administrations ensuring client interests through tariff legislation and through trade deals such as the Central American Free Trade Agreement and the North American Free Trade Agreement.  We have also represented multinational companies during the negotiations of the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
