Troutman Sanders' Hong Kong Office was founded in 1997 to serve the needs arising from its clients' rapidly growing business between the United States and the Pacific Rim. Among its capabilities today, the office assists clients, many based in North America, with setting up operations in Asia, including dispositions and joint-ventures in China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, Thailand, Philippines and elsewhere in the Pacific Rim; the structuring and implementing of mergers and acquisitions; institutional financing; securitizations; project finance, particularly in the energy sector; initial public offerings for PRC enterprises and other enterprises listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Growth Enterprises Market; compliance with Hong Kong Stock Exchange rules for listed companies; qualifying foreign and local mutual funds and unit trusts for trading in Hong Kong and elsewhere in the region; and, international intellectual property rights counseling. The office also assists Asian-based businesses with their business expansion and endeavors outside of Asia, including investments and business dealings in the North American market.
